Meet the Core Executive Body of Sri Vishnu Educational Society — the people guiding our institutions today, building on a founding vision more than five decades old.
Founder Chairman
Dr. B. V. Raju grew up in a farming family near Bhimavaram, in West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. He trained as a chemical engineer at Banaras Hindu University and later earned a management degree from Harvard. Starting out as an entry-level worker in the cement industry, he eventually became Chairman and Managing Director of the Cement Corporation of India, a public sector undertaking, and went on to set up cement plants across Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Assam and Karnataka.
He advised several state governments on industrial development and served as an industrial adviser to a number of countries in South and Southeast Asia. After retiring, he founded a number of enterprises in Andhra Pradesh, including Raasi Cement and Vishnu Cement. In recognition of his contribution to Indian industry, he received the Padma Shri in 1977 and the Padma Bhushan in 2001, along with an honorary doctorate from JNTU Hyderabad. Sri Vishnu Educational Society and the B. V. Raju Foundation both grew out of his lifelong commitment to education and to uplifting underprivileged communities.
Chairman
Born on 31 January 1964, Sri K. V. Vishnu Raju was educated at St. Xavier's High School in New Delhi before earning a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from REC Tiruchirapalli and an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University in the United States. He began his career with E. I. DuPont de Nemours in Wilmington, Delaware, working on research and development in polymers, ceramics and adhesives.
He later served as Managing Director of Raasi Cement and continues as Managing Director of Anjani Portland Cement. As Chairman of the Society, he carries forward the founder chairman's vision of education as a means of serving underprivileged communities.
Vice Chairman
Sri Ravichandran Rajagopal holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli, and a postgraduate management qualification from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
He began his professional career with the Swiss multinational Novartis in India, where he held roles spanning business development, new product and application development, and vendor development.
Secretary
Aditya Vissam is the youngest member of the Society's management team. He trained as an industrial engineer at Penn State University before completing an MBA at Imperial College London. He gained early experience at Office Depot in Minneapolis, and after his MBA worked as an Operations Manager at Amazon in London.
He brings perspective on the future skills that need to be built into the curricula of the Society's autonomous colleges, and works closely with the Vishnu Educational Development and Innovation Centre (VEDIC) in Hyderabad, which focuses on teaching pedagogy, learning styles and continuous assessment.
Joint Secretary
Kalidindi Sai Sumant serves as Executive Director at Anjani Tiles Limited alongside his role as Joint Secretary of the Society. He holds a bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Penn State University and an MBA from the University of California, Irvine.
He previously worked as an R&D Engineer at Glidewell Dental in the United States, where he contributed to the synthesis, characterisation and manufacture of dental ceramics, and is listed as an inventor on a US patent.
