Institutional Commitment

The Center for VLSI Design at Padmasri Dr.B.V.Raju Institute of Technology of Sri Vishnu Educational Society was established in Department of ECE in the year 2008. The center focuses specifically on Analog, Mixed-signal and SOC VLSI design. Its faculty members bring extensive academic experience and broad industrial experience. The center leans heavily on professional interactions with industry for guidance and support.

The institution has identified the need for qualified and trained man power in VLSI Design Area and towards meeting this has collaborated with companies such as SYNOPSYS and XILINX, under their University Programs enabling both staff and students understand and appreciate the High End Technology.

The main objective of Synopsys University Programme is to provide an outstanding educational experience for students at both the Bachelors and Masters Levels, to conduct research that will advance the state of the art in the field of Electronics, to promote industrial interactions and co-development, to promote extended learning opportunities for off-campus students, and to provide substantive exposure to undergraduate students to analog, mixed-signal design and SOC issues.

  • Synopsys offers an integrated EDA solution which encompasses the Entire Design flow from behavioral modeling to post - layout simulation.
  • The Synopsys Asia - Pacific University program offers low-cost support and licensing through its third party support partner Digipro Systems.
  • Use of Synopsys Software offers BVRIT students an experience and training with commercial-grade EDA tools used in Industry.

Online Course

The students of ECE are taking an online course on Digital Design (Part1) conducted by SEER (Synopsys Electronics Education and Research) Akademi. Mr.Srikanth Jadcherla, former Group Director, Synopsys, USA has initiated this concept of learning through WebEx. BVRIT & SEER has established a Remote learning Center. BVRIT is one of the Regional centres of Excellence for SEER AKADEMI and part of the SYNOPSYS University Program. Around 35 students from III & IV B.Tech ECE are registered for this course. The course comprises of basics of Digital Design, Verilog & design issues. The lectures are given by Resource persons from Synopsys, Professors from Purdue University. The students can listen to the lecture even sitting at home through WebEx and do their projects using Synopsys tool. They can actually access the tool remotely by proper authentication. After successful completion of project the students will be graded & get certified from Synopsys, which helps them placed in electronics core industry.

Regular workshops and seminars are conducted by Synopsys at BVRIT on recent trends in VLSI with active involvement from eminent industrialists and academicians. Also many students are being recruited as internship at Synopsys.
