Padmasri Dr.B V Raju Institute Of Computer Education (BVRICE)

Established in the year 1999 with only MCA as the academic programme, Padmasri Dr. B.V.Raju Institute of Computer Education expanded further to offer B.Sc. courses from the year 2002 to students aspiring to acquire specific skills and excellence in the study of science. P.G. course in M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry) was introduced from the academic year 2008 - 09 with an intake of 24 students, which was increased this year to 33.

Located in an 80-acre sprawling campus at Vishnupur, 3 km from Bhimavaram town, BVRICE forms a part and parcel of Sri Vishnu Educational Society.

The students at BVRICE are second to none in academics. The average pass percentage is appreciably good with 80 - 90% on an average for the outgoing batches. An MCA Student of 2006 - 2009 batch bagged Andhra University Gold Medal for outstanding performance in academics.

Besides providing opportunities for employment in various reputed organizations, the placement cell also assists the students to be industry ready through Soft Skills training, Communications Skills programmes, personality development sessions and aptitude are only a few of the programmes to name. Some of the companies in which the BVRICE students got placed are IBM, Syntel, Elico, Mphasis, Infosys, Mahindra Satyam, Kalite, Rofus, Assurgent, etc.,

Inaugurated on 15th of August 2003, the college N.S.S. Unit has an intake of 230 volunteers. In recognition of its commendable functioning the college was sanctioned a second unit in March 2008. The college N.S.S. team comprises of the Principal as the Chairman, 2 lecturers as Programme Officers and student volunteers. Some of the activities of BVRICE N.S.S. unit are - Volunteering Pulse Polio programme, Planting trees in the near by villages, Chlorination programmes, Blood Grouping & Blood Donation programmes, Providing educational aids to poor students during World Literacy Day, AIDS awareness programmes on ' World AIDS Day ', participating
' Youth Leadership Training ' programme, participating in N.S.S. National Adventurous Camp from 2008, sponsored by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India, organizing N.S.S. special camp that work towards educating the villagers on health, hygiene, sanitation, literacy etc.,

Projects, Workshops and Symposia
Even though it is not prescribed in the regular curriculum, B.Sc. (Life Sciences) students have shown keen interest in handling live projects. They have done projects at, hospitals, fermentation industries, hatcheries, mineral water plants, diagnostic centers, at Hyderabad, Vizag, Vijayawada, Tanuku, Bhimavaram etc. Also, BVRICE students brought laurels to the college by participating and winning at the State Level and National Level Symposia.

Students of BVRICE share an interest in sports too as evidenced by their good performance and selection into the University team, in games such as Volleyball and Cricket.
